About PhAMAS
A Brief History and Goals of PhAMAS
Philadelphia Area Municipal Analyst Society (PhAMAS) is a not-for-profit association with members located in the Philadelphia region, including southern New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.
The professional focus of our members is to examine the creditworthiness of municipal bonds and the aspects of the municipal finance business as it relates to municipal credit.
Our goals:
- To promote professionalism in municipal credit analysis,
- To further the skill level of our members and to provide a platform by which analysts can exchange ideas Through our educational programs and regaular events,
- To advocate, when appropriate, issues of importance to the municipal finance industry, and
- To facilitate the flow of information among market participants, especially in terms of better issuer disclosure.
In furtherance of these goals, PhAMAS’ activities include regular seminars on topics of interest to those interested in municipal credit.
